"List Building"
Four Ways to Build a List
with No Money and No Traffic

You've probably heard sentences like these many times:

  • "If you want to succeed online, you must have a list of your own." and
  • "The money's in the list."
  • Every internet guru will tell you this. Ever wonder why?

    Because it's true! :o)

There is no doubt that the single most valuable asset I own online are my mailing lists.

With them I can build or rebuild a business. Without them I'm back at square one.

How about you? Do you have a list of your own yet?

If not, I'd like to share four simple ideas you can use immediately to start building a list of your own even if you don't have money, a website or traffic!

These are all techniques I have used in the past with GREAT success, and still use them today.

They work very well for me, and I know they will work just as well for you too.

    Here they are:

    1) - Your Email Signature Line

Go to the "sent" folder in your email program and look at the messages you've sent today. I'm willing to bet that your emails do not include an offer for someone to join your mailing list.

    But it should!

If you send only 20 emails a day (including replies) then you are sending over 7000 emails per year!

What if only 1 in 7 people saw your link and joined your list?

That's over 1000 subscribers to your list ... free!

    2 ) - Forums

Did you ever visit a forum and ask a question? Many people do but they don't leverage the experience in their favor.

Just about every forum out there offers a signature line feature, yet we see thousands of posts with no signature at all.

Don't make this mistake! If you post on any forum, no matter what subject is about, make sure to include a signature link where people can join your list.

This method is VERY effective, and free to boot!

    3) - Twitter

You've heard of Twitter, right? The social networking tool where people can keep in touch and up to date? Well, believe it or not, Twitter is a Great marketing tool!

Here's how you can start using it today to begin building your list with no money.

Start following people you know of and replying to their Tweets. Make sure that your reply makes sense and won't waste people's time.

Replying to a Tweet with something like "I loved your story about ___ " is a reply that is often much appreciated.

Once you have been following for a while you will start getting followers too, and your name will begin to become recognizable in your circles. When that happens, send a short Tweet about your new mailing list and give them a link where people can join it.

Now, if you don't have a website of your own you might be thinking, "sounds good, but where do I send them to sign up?" The answer is:

    4) - Your Blog

And if you don't have a blog, there is simply no reason to wait any longer. Go to Blogger.com and get one now. It's free and they have several templates you can use that are very professional looking.

The bottom line is, if you can type, you can blog. And if you are not doing it now, then you are missing out on some serious list building.

Once your blog is setup, simply put a form on it for your list and it will start to grow on autopilot!

So there you have it! Four simple ways to begin building a list of your own with absolutely no out of pocket cash and zero traffic!

Remember, "The money's in the list." If you are serious about building a successful online business, no matter what it is, whether it's promoting affiliate products or selling sewing needles, begin using these 4 simple techniques today and your online success will grow immensely and a lot sooner than you think. You will have a mailing list of your own that will grow continually on autopilot, and having a powerful mailing list like money in the bank. :o)
